Rewards traders who are active now
Deal history credits each completed deal and adds a recency bonus for recent closes, and peer reviews gain full weight once you have enough of them, so the score reflects current activity.

Two of the four components can only be earned by trading here, so a score computed before any of that has happened would say more about how long you have been a member than about whether to trade with you. Your profile leads with your verification, and the score joins it once you have a track record for it to reflect.

How exactly is the score calculated?
The full arithmetic is published at /methodology/score: the twelve profile fields scaled to twenty points plus five for two-factor authentication, the all-or-nothing forty-five for business verification, one and a half points per completed deal capped at thirteen with a two-point recency bonus, and the average review rating times three scaled by a confidence factor that reaches full weight at five reviews. That page also states when the score is shown to other people, and what it does not tell you, which matters more.
Why is verification weighted so heavily?
Business verification is the strongest signal of legitimacy, so it is the single largest component at 45 points and is all-or-nothing. It cannot be partially gamed.
When does my score update?
Automatically whenever an input changes: you complete your profile, pass verification, a screening result updates, a deal closes, or you receive a review. Every change is logged to history.
Who can see my score?
You always see it, along with the breakdown of where every point came from. Other people see it on your public profile, in the Discover directory, and on counterparty records, but only once your account has a track record here for it to measure: at least one completed deal or peer review. Until then those places show your Business Verified status and the underlying facts instead. Two of the four components can only be earned by trading on the platform, so a number shown before any of that has happened would rate you on how new you are rather than on how you trade.
